Our flight was not completely full but was almost. Therefore, one mother had an empty seat next to her and the other mother thought she did but as a man walked down the isle, she realized she did not.
Let me better explain this passenger that came down the isle. He was very large. He COULD NOT walk down the isle. He had to side step/hobble down the isle. As he came closer to their seats, my heart just dropped for her. I watched her face to see if she made any sign of irritation. SHE DIDN'T!! She was SUCH a sweet woman. She smiled and made conversation. Meanwhile, he struggled lifting his body across the one seat to get to his spot by the window.
He was so large that she COULD NOT put down the arm rest between them. He was literally taking up 1/3 of her seat. You may think I am very harsh in the way I am explaining him BUT THIS IS WHY!
She didn't bat an eye, didn't make a face, and was so pleasant to him. But, immediately after getting situated as best as he could, he had the audacity to say to her, "Well, I sure hope your kid doesn't cry a lot". Here he is taking up her already small seat (because she had a 1 year old on her lap) that she paid full price for!!!
I'm sorry, but if you can not fit in your own one seat and you are not traveling with a companion in the seat next to you, then buy a dang second seat! IT IS SO UNFAIR to the other passenger!
Luckily, the gate agent had saved the last row of seats for us (the FA's) - because if not we have no place to sit during the 3 hour flight between services. I moved the sweet mom into the open seats. We ended up talking a lot and I just loved that sweet lady and was so frustrated with that ignorant man.
